Christopher Pidcock obtained his Bachelor of Music from the Tasmanian Conservatorium under Christian Wojtowicz, where he won the Director’s Prize and the Mt Nelson Prize. In 2006 he completed a Graduate Diploma at the Sydney Conservatorium under Georg Pederson and then completed a Master of Music with Uzi Wiesel. In 2008, he attended the Australian National Academy of Music on full scholarship. The recipient of a Churchill Fellowship, Christopher travelled to Germany for studies with Anner Bylsma, Peter Bruns and Gavriel Lipkind and attended the 2008 International Cello Congress in Israel. He has won the Gisborne International Music Competition 1st prize and Nelson Meers Foundation Scholarship at the Sydney Eisteddfod. In 2012, he returned from Chicago where he completed a Performance Certificate with Prof. Hans Jørgen Jensen at Northwestern University. Christopher is a member of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra cello section.
