Clara Maria Salzmann is a Bachelor of Music student in viola at the University of Melbourne, studying under Prof. Wenhong Luo. She is a recipient of the D’Hage Mayer Scholarship and the Truby Williams Conservatorium Endowment Scholarship. In orchestras, she has worked with Jonathan Morton and Clio Gould from the Royal Academy of Music. She is a passionate chamber musician and a recipient of the Chamber Music New Zealand Joan Kerr Gold Award, and the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra Young Achievers Award. Internationally, she has been invited to partake in masterclasses given by Veit Hertenstein, Asdis Valdismardottir, and Charles Castleman. She was also a part of 2021 International Akaroa Summer Festival chamber music group in residence. Recently, she has had the pleasure of performing as a soloist with the Melbourne Conservatorium Youth Academy Orchestra
